Here is a sampling of some of our work:
- JP & the Lava Lizards
-
A small site for a band. I think this is a good example of a
brochure-like site. It says a bit about the band, has a sample, and
can be used to contact the band and gives news.
One somewhat-novel feature is that I do almost no maintenance -- the
band members update the site themselves, and it's set up so that the
news never goes stale.
If you aren't sure what you want to do with your website, I think this
level of website is the best place to start. It's easy to be too
ambitious for your first site -- either you make a great site that you
don't have the time to maintain, or you never finish because you've
bitten off more than you can chew. Instead you can start small and
get something up quick and cheap.
- Emily Murphy, Mostly Functional Ceramics
-
This site shows the work of an artist. I've tried to work with
her on the design both so that it's nonintrusive and reflects some of
the aesthetics of her ceramics.
- Function and Wearable Arts Exhibition
-
This is another brochure-like site. This site is for a group exhibition.
- Fitzroy Dearborn Publishers
- This is a larger site, which is actually maintained by a number of
people. I have helped them do a major reorganization of the site.
When they started, they updated the entire site with FrontPage by
hand, but it has since outgrown that.
I have helped them organize their site into a database of books so
that the site is easier to maintain and search. Changes to the
structure or look of the site won't mean updating hundreds of pages
anymore.
I've also worked with them to do make collaberation software for
internal use in their editing process. Unfortunately that's not
pubicly accessible.
